Egg Laying Delay

I have a female that laid one egg on her expected lay date (March 8th). It is fertile and in the incubator. It has been five days now since she laid that egg and I am still waiting for the other eggs (she definately has more eggs). I have seen slugs laid days in advance but this egg is fertile and doing fine in the incubator. Has anyone seen anything like this? She hasn't shown any odd behavior (still coiled up on the warm side). Do you all think I should I start getting worried?

I'd worry, but maybe someone with more experience would tell you different. Has this female laid before or is she a first time mom? Have the eggs moved down the oviduct or is she cleared of the one egg near the vent and the others haven't moved? Is she changing positions like she's trying to adjust the position of the eggs or just sitting there?

She has laid twice now with no problems.

The other eggs currently in her haven't moved down the oviduct toward the vent yet. As of this morning she seemed fine. I haven't yet witnessed any odd behavior or positions.

This is just strange. My intuition is that she's okay, but my anxiety is sparking worry.

Does the egg closest to the vent feel larger than the others?

One thing to say is I wouldn't try maniplulating the eggs down manually in case it is something like a twisted or obstructed oviduct.

I would recommentd asking one of the bigger breeders for advice and think about booking a vet appointment to see if he could give her something to move things on.

How many days is this after her post lay shed?

The egg closest to the vent feels a bit smaller than the others. It has been 32 days since the post ovulation shed.

Wouldn't putting her in water help move the process? Kinda how when they are constipated? Maybe that can help?

I would at the very least call a vet. They can tell you what to do from there.

I'd take her to the vet, just in case. They could use the sonogram and either put your mind at ease or intervene if they needed to at that point if she's egg bound or having complications. A $100 "routine" vet trip for peace of mind would be well-worth it to me and if it's something more than that, you'd know soon enough to hopefully be able to save mom if not the rest of her eggs as well. Vet visiting first, I wont say twisted oviduct since she passed one egg already, she may become egg bound.. take her to the vet immediately... If you're still reading this post then you're wasting time...!!!!!

Today when I got home from work I took a look at her, FINALLY the next egg moved down and was near the vent. I knew right then, it was going to be okay. Took the wife out tonight and when I got home there were 5 beautiful eggs. They are in the slow cooker now! Thanks for your help everyone. I don't know the reasons for why this happened, but I am glad I didn't jump the gun. And we now know... it is possible for a fertile egg to be laid six days prior to the rest. However, this does raise more questions. Will they all hatch at the same time or is the preemie going to pip 6 days early??? Also, is the preemie going to be a normal healthy happy python? Hmm... I'll keep you all posted as answers unfold.
