Constipation??

I've had my rescue spider girl, Ghana, for about a month now. She has eaten for me 3 times (after not eating for 3 months) and is finally shedding now. Humidity is currently around 80% to help her shed, and temps are 90 on warm side and 80 on cool. She has been having some difficulty shedding, so I soaked her for a few minutes today and noticed that her rectum area feels very hard. You can visibly see that that area is thicker as well. She hasn't pooped for me since I've had her and with three mice in there somewhere, I'm worried she might be constipated. I'm hoping she'll go once she sheds completely...

My normal poops every 5-6 weeks or so, so I'm not worried too much, but the fact that it felt so hard worries me. What do you guys think?

Can you tell if her poo is backed up? Sometimes they just don't poo for a while, not a big deal unless the poo is hard and backed up near the vent. If you can see/feel it you may want to soak her in warm water.

Yes, it seems like it is backed up for about an inch and a half above her vent. She's only about 95 grams, so that's a good portion of her body. I soaked her today to help with her shed, so she's been working on shedding ever since.

the first BP i ever held was an adult male at a very good reptile rescue that was watched over by 2 university professor vets and 3 volunteer reptile vets, and it had the same problem. And it was an adult male with exactly the same problem: extreme constipation.

Visit a vet and dont stop feeding it. What they did is to put some kind of natural but potent green color in the food items, and they were waiting for any poop, or preferrably green poop.

What i gathered is: Keep feeding the snake normally, and consult a reptile vet. What is the weight? Weight and age are crucial here, but absolutely missing. Some adults keep it in, just to occasionaly wake up their owners with an incredibly loud fart followed by an incredibly huge pile. But it might also be problematic, only a vet can tell for sure.


edit: i missed it, 95 grams, which means.... tiny. Maybe you need a reptile vet.
