This has nothing to do with spoiling. The best way to care for a ball python properly is in a rack setup. Tanks and misc. other things only benefit the keeper so you can feel better about yourself and/or view a snake easily. Trust me, breeders use tubs and racks because they are superior, not because its cheap or unfitting for the animals.

This. There is nothing wrong with keeping them in a tank. Don't blame you for wanting to be able to see your snakes. However ball pythons like to be in small dark areas and tub allow for much better control of humidity. Just something to consider.

If you do go with some kind of tank style, consider something like the ap PVC style cages. Screen tops make it difficult to maintain humidity.
