Also, when I see a lock that female is good for a few weeks. I don't introduce a male until three weeks have passed since the last lock. If I get a female bred once a month I'm happy. I think a lot of people over breed which leads to skinny males, etc.

good point. I usually pair mine when A.I remember B.No one is in shed C.They haven't just eaten or are about to eat D. The weather outside is crappy.

This evens out to about once or twice a month.
