BCI's are great animals so I hope they are not being looked down upon for not being BCC. Boas also tend to shift colors often too, you might have seen the larger one in a dark phase. My little guy goes from uber dark sometimes when he is digesting or getting ready to shed and other times he is light grey and you can see the pinkish hues along his sides
