Alright, you guys know Athena is usually garbage can, but she's starting to act like she did when I first switched her to rats.

She didn't eat last week because she was blue and she shed just in time so that the day after it was her feeding day. Tried feeding her a rat as usual, and she came darting out of her hide like she always does. However, not unlike how she used to act when i first introduced her to rats, she just sniffed it and continued to lay outside her hide like she was waiting for something else. If I made it dance around enough, she would strike at it, but she would either miss/not grab onto it. I could never tell which. So I don't know if she's actually hungry, or just pissed off.

She's still under a year and this would be her second week in a row skipping a meal. Husbandry is fine. Humidity: 55% Cool side: 82 Warm side: 85-86 Hotspot: 91-92. The only thing I changed in her tank was the substrate this back week. I was tried of what the reptibark was doing to her belly so I switched her to paper towels.

Any time mine do that mock striking stuff at a rat I just pull the rat and try again next week. Balls can go a long time with out food long enough to suprise you lol my normal male hasn't ate since December.

Yeah, that I know, I just know some people on this site have different views about babies going off-feed considering most of them don't.

It is comforting to know that I'm not the only one getting that 'mock-strike' however. I'll pull it and wait until next week, then.

Repti bark is known for staining and wearing away at belly scales. It's not a huge deal where it's worry some, I personally was just tired of it

Oh, I see. I use it, but thinking of changing things up. Break up the monotony, kinda thing.

Do you have a scale to keep track of weights? If she's dropping lots of weight then it's more of a worry. My male that hasn't ate in three months now has lost only bout 150 grams. Hoping he eats soon cuz hell rebound fast

If he's lost 150 grams in 3 months, I would be worried. I've got a 4-monther that's lost maybe 20. How much does he weigh that losing 150 grams doesn't worry you?

He was 1100 now he is 950 still looks fine just doesn't want food hell take it again he did this last year and year before too . Those are rounded numbers btw from the book they are 1089 November 12th and on feb 12th he was 963. There's a big gap between weighing because I didn't have a scale used buddies in November and I got a new scale in feb so started using that. I don't worry bout it cuz like I say this is third time he's done this now so just used to it he get offered a rat every week hell take when he's hungry
