    shed in 2 peices

well my b/p shed again. But today when i checked on him his shed was in 2 pieces (well 3 actually) but the third piece was only about the size of a pinky fingernail. do they normally always shed in one piece? because as soon as i noticed he went blue i bumped his humidity up to between 70-80%.

It all depends on the circumstances, even when the humidity is perfect and all, it the snake tears it as he is trying to get it off, it will fall apart. It happens to everyone, no need to worry. I'm sure someday you will get a nice full shed from him.

A one piece shed is a sign that your husbandry is spot on. if your BP sheds in a few large pieces you probably are still doing things right. Sheds aren't the strongest material and sometimes they will tear. If your BP sheds in lots of tiny pieces and has trouble getting them off you should check your temperatures/humidity as something is probably off.

    Re: shed in 2 peices

okay thanks. he has never shed in little pieces, and always gets it off. but this time the shed was almost complete but the head part was seperate from the body part. oh i also seen a little blood in the body part of the shed, about where the spurs/butt would be. is that normal? he looked fine

The blood on the cloaca area is normal. Sometimes the delicate cloacal skin gets cut from not-so-gentle shedding technique.
