    Kingsnake and Fauna classifieds.

Butters are worth more than pastels. Male pastels run from $50-75. Females for $100-200 depending on quality.

Male butters / lessers are going for an average of 200-250. I would say 160 is an extremely good price and that male is goreous - a beautiful example of the morph. I am very picky when it comes to butters as they are my favorite morph and I would pay 160 for that animal. Incidentally, why are you "trying to build up your collection" with no real goal in mind - or do you have a goal? I don't mean any offense - just curious!

Wow. Just goes to show, location is everything.

Still haven't seen any on KS for that, but that's hit or miss and I don't browse the BPs too much - more into the boas.

And these are non show price.

I say your male butter is worth $150. ($200 at the very highest)
I agree with Nikki 100%. Quality examples will command a higher price but her averages are pretty consistent with what I have seen even at shows.

I didn't disagree with her - just wowed that prices seem to vary so much dependant on location. I would not have thought prices would swing so much. I do know quality demands a higher price and I am one of those that would much rather pay more for a stellar example then save a few bucks on a lower quality animal. I would buy with the intention of breeding, so I want the best I can buy.

My goal is to breed. But my plan for my sunglow redtail fell through when she passed away after being fed a bad rat from the pet store (long story yes took her to the vet and yes im feeding f/t now.not live) also my buddy is getting into snakes thanks to me so that splits costs in half for a pair to breed.

    Re: butter ball

I honestly don't think I gave 'low' prices. I buy most of my snakes online from KS. Im on the West Coast. Maybe the East is cheaper since 80% of my snakes are from there??

But Those are the prices I see for today's 2013 market. I definitely saw Evenstar's pricing back in 2011- early 2012.
Bees were ~$500. Butters were ~$250-400. Not so much these days...

Gotcha! Sorry to hear about your red tail - that's too bad....

You might be better off getting this fellow rather than waiting for an expo. You never know what expo prices will be and if you like this guy, snap him up. I'm still thinking this is a really good deal for this snake. Of course, it's up to you.

That's actually kind of nice to hear - at least from my perspective, lol. I'm not into balls as much as boas, but I love the butters/lessers enough that I'd like to pick one up. I'd love to find a high quality one and still save a little $$. Think I'll have to start searching for one.....
