    Repcal/Reptivite help

    I'm a new leopard gecko/reptile keeper and I need help figuring out how to use Reptivite and RepCal for my juvenile Leopard Gecko.

    You put the powder in a plastic bag along with the crickets or whatever you are feeding, and shake up the bag. You should do this a few times a week. Only use one product or the other at a time.

    I leave a little bottle cap full of calcium in their tanks at all times and dust the crickets with the repti vite but that's just me

    I'm new at this too and was wondering if they need calcium with or without vitamin D.
    Ball Pythons: 0.1 cinnamon, 0.1 bumblebee, 0.1 lesser, 1.0 black pastel het hypo, 0.1 pastel het hypo, 0.2 hypos, 0.2 het hypos, 1.0 lemonblast, 1.0 YB, 1.0 enchi, 0.1 pastel, 1.1 het genetic stripe, 0.3 normals.

    Boas: 0.1 super hypo, 0.1 longicauda.

    Kings: 0.1 hypo brooks, 1.0 whitesided brooks.

    This is continuously up for debate...

    I leave a small dish of calcium without D3 in with my geckos at all times. I also dust my feeders with the same. There are some forum posts you'll find stating that D3 can be toxic to your reptile in large quantities, but if I understand correctly for reptiles that do not use UV bulbs, an occasional dusting of feeders with the calcium plus D3 actually helps to "process" the large amounts of calcium your reptile consumes. Not sure how factual that is, do use this info at your own risk.

    In my opinion a small amount of D3 shouldn't be all that bad for your geckos.
