If you don't pick up some tongs, you might be saying goodbye to unbloodied fingers, too! Pretty girl!

Lol, ya I was just dangling it by the tail, and she immediately lunged for it...so glad she is an excellent feeder! When she got here she was at 95 grams, and IMO a little skinny for her length (pointy backbone sticking out), but since she eats so darn good, she is already putting on weight and looking nice and healthy

Re: Switched Substrate
I use newspaper for my girl's tub, which is very similar to paper towel and I like it a lot. It's easy to replace, super easy to see when they go to the bathroom, and you never have to worry about your snake accidentally picking up substrate while eating, good switch IMO

Re: Switched Substrate
I also use Newspaper. I used to use Aspen (I do still use it for the one snake I have in a tank - but she's a corn snake) but I got tired of paying so much for it. So now I use my grandparent's old newspapers. It's free and I can change it daily if I need to. For shed cycles, I bought a HUGE bag of cypress mulch (cost me like $4 form Lowes) and I use that until they shed. Then I clean the tubs and they go back on newspaper.

Re: Switched Substrate
I'm quite fond of the newspaper as well. It's free or at least muuuch cheaper and seems more cleanly to me, with the added benefit of no substrate ingestion.

You can also go to a newspaper printer business and get some old editions from there. Or, you can go to a convenient store. They always have some free papers you can take.
