I am absolutely on cloud 9 right now because my fragile little spider girl has finally eaten! I have called every pet store within a 50 mi radius (literally) and no one can get me live mice. So, I decided it was time to take action. I warmed up a mouse and put it in with her, nothing. She even curled up next to the thing. I hated the idea of trying to force it, but I thought maybe she just needed to be reminded that this was food.
I gently got the nose in her mouth. Soo hard because she was not enjoying it and it was tough for me to see her uncomfortable. I was even hoping she'd bite me just to show some kind of aggression. BUT she clamped down and against all odds, realized it was food!
I am truly shocked and SO happy!! Hopefully next week she won't need any help at all! I would definitely not recommend this method to anyone except as a last resort. I hated stressing her out but her behavior and weight were starting to scare me.
YAY!!
