Not interested in Breeding?
This is my first season breeding, so I'm still learning my snakes personal behaviors. I've been pairing my male lesser to a normal and pastel female. I've gotten plenty of locks since January (late bloomer, I know...but I was waiting on my male to get a bit bigger).
My normal is building but not eating, anyone have an explanation for that? She started off not locking with him but I've caught them locked up twice. A couple of weeks ago, I felt marble sized follicles in her.
The pastel ate her first meal on Thursday for me. When I started introducing them, she would always lock with my male and now she won't. Since I've only been locking since January, I know she's not done building. She has no palpable follicles. Any reason why she would suddenly stop eating?
As for the male, he's gained over 150g and eats weaned rats weekly like normal. He's even had a vary large bowel movement since then. Do some males just lose interest?
I apologize for the questions. I'm just trying to figure out why I'm not seeing locks.

They might be locking when you aren't looking, and just done by the time you check again in the morning. Don't over-analyze, and just keep pairing them until you see an ovy or eggs.

Maybe that's the case. I just worry since all his other locks last for at least 24 hours and suddenly I'm no longer seeing them. I am, however, still pairing and plan to until I see some eggs! I didn't build an incubator for nothing
