Come on people, not enough ill informed foolish people have called me names yet today. I am sure someone can find something offensive in that.

You see, the thing about "calling me names" that you're missing, no doubt due to your overwhelming knowledge of human psychosis, is that sometimes the names are apt, they fit, they describe accurately. Every word I've used to describe you, no matter what you call that word, aptly describes you. No matter how you justify what you say, you are still reprehensible, rude, uninformed and ill prepared.

Of course, were this a coffee house, late at night, full of other young with no real life experience students, your peers, I'm sure you would have plenty siding with you. This, this site and the people here though, this is real life. These are things that have happened to people and your casual dismissal and easy 'you should do this, they should do that' is an insult to everyone, but most especially those who have, unasked, shared some of the horror they've experienced in order to help others NOT have the same experiences.

You're more the dog's leftover on the sidewalk, unacknowledged, yet wet and stinky, by the dog's owner because it's easier not to deal with what life hands you.

1./ Cat, you do whatever you need to to be comfortable. It's NEVER the girls fault. I have taught this to my offspring and I learned it myself back in the long ago.

2./ There is no formula for a rapist, but it's good to know some things to look out for.

3./ I warn my female offspring fairly often to be careful and watch everyone and to listen to that little voice.

4./ I'm a big somewhat scary man and I've seen the look of fear in a woman's eye when I'm in a parking lot or happen to be going the same way on the path at the beach, even at the gym. I don't ever say anything, but I'm glad it's there because they're WATCHING. I'm never insulted because there are some real asswipes out there that get off on hurting girls. It makes all of us guys look bad, but it is FAR better to be safe than sorry.

1. Wrong. I will point you to the BBC radio program indicating that 40% of the rapists of women in the DRC(which happens to be the rape capital of the world) are other women. The sex of a person has ZERO to do with right or wrong.

3. I feel rather sorry for any male offspring you have then. I prefer to try to teach both of my kids to be safe.

My whole life has been a quest of finding a guy who'd believe what I said simply because I said it.

I don't have words to express what is done to your mind when your parents ask "What did you do to provoke this?" when you're so little and ignorant of 'sex' that you really don't understand even the concept of such things, yet.

Times have changed so dramatically...10 year olds today understand things I didn't learn about until I was 14.

I'm sad that they have to learn that early but in a way, it might be for the best.

He's also someone with a lot of pride who's currently defending an indefensible position and cannot back down graciously due to ego issues.
So, the 'fight' will go on until he shuts up, is shut up by mods or, most unlikely, we all reach a consensus supporting his view.
