There is no formula for a rapist, but it's good to know some things to look out for.

I warn my female offspring fairly often to be careful and watch everyone and to listen to that little voice.

I'm a big somewhat scary man and I've seen the look of fear in a woman's eye when I'm in a parking lot or happen to be going the same way on the path at the beach, even at the gym. I don't ever say anything, but I'm glad it's there because they're WATCHING. I'm never insulted because there are some real asswipes out there that get off on hurting girls. It makes all of us guys look bad, but it is FAR better to be safe than sorry.

What if the victim is 10 years old and their parents have basically told them to STFU about it because if 'trouble in the family' happens because they opened their mouth they're going to be 'disowned'?

What 10 year old is emotionally equipped to handle that?

What happens later when the 10 year old is grown up and the rest of the extended family is consolidated in 'protecting' the pedo to make sure the pedo's wife is not "hurt"?

Do you have any idea what living with that kind of conspiracy to reward guilt and punish innocence does to a person?

Yes. And no one should have to go through that. I'm sorry that one of my counterparts did that and I truly hope that a horrific life is his.

You have no fault, no child, no woman does. Some of us believe this truly and pass it on to our offspring and those who would listen. There are good men out there, it's just terrible that so many can't trust enough to see them.

It happened to my mother, though she was a great deal younger. You know what she did? She worked through her issues. Although, she didn't say anything because she knew that if her father found out, he'd kill the person responsible.

Great for her. This doesn't mean that everyone has the same capabilities of dealing with stress, guilt, anger, shame and anything else that comes with a sexual assault.

Rape/molestation is a crime and should be treated as such, which means reporting it. The burden is on the victim to report it. Just like it's on a homeowner to report that their house has been broken into, or someone who has witnessed a murder.

You must simply be looking for an argument. I think it sucks. I think it's a reality and I really resent that any woman, or man for that matter, has to feel weaker or like a potential victim, that anyone has to watch out for the bad guy just because you're a girl or small or whatever makes you feel like harm could come your way from anyone.

Ladies, ignore the idiots and take care of yourselves. White Knights are rare, but they are out there. Sadly, pissants are a dime a dozen and they're everywhere. Don't let anything here discourage you from being careful.

Making them guilty as well as the actual offender.

Though I'm not female, I, and now I make my wife, carry the maximum legal length knife possible. We both carry 4" SOG Trident, I really wanted a Camillus Beast, but it's 4.1" and that's technically not legal. I had my great uncle teach me and then my wife how to knife fight too. So, I have a big knife and know how to use it.
