You can't beat a Jungle carpet python for a display snake you can actually handle. Mine are both very tame (they are active while being handled though). They are easy, reliable feeders and mine are always out in the open. Only the male ever uses his hide box and that's only when he is in shed. Speaking of which, needing more humidity at shed time is the only reason these are "intermediate" snakes IMHO. My carpets are my favorite snakes and my jungles are my absolute favorites.
They also might be intermediate because they can be nippy as babies, which may detour someone who has never had a snake, and thinks getting bitten is the worst thing in the world lol

But they are very gorgeous, I sure do love me a jaguar carpet.
