Ball Python Shedding Cycle
So my ball python, Lionel, is in the blue-eyed stage of his first shed cycle with me, but I cannot for the life of me keep his tank at the proper humidity. He will be in a tub starting tuesday, at which point I'll be able to regulate his humidity better, but as it is, I am only ably to keep his tank at~70% humidity if I mist him every hour or so. Should I be concerned? Is one bad shed going to do him serious harm? I'm very worried about him.

no, a bad shed will cause no serious harm. just a little bit uncomfortable for him. if you're using a tank with a screen top, take a towel and get it damp, and lay it over the top. you can also take a wash cloth or some paper towels, get them wet, ring them out, and put it under his hide so when he goes into his hide he's sitting on top of it and it creates a little "humid hide" until he's done shedding.

Damp towel works very well. I have the same problem and seen someone suggest it, tried it out and it made a HUGE difference.
I have a 24" high tank so lack of humidiy was kicking my butt.
I now only have to spray maybe 2 times a day. Really works

As it happens, he shed last week totally fine. I was just being overly anxious about the whole process.
