There are some recessive het genes that do visually express themselves.

Take the pewter het pied for example. The het pied gene washes out the snake. That pewter het pied with a regular pewter look completely different side by side.
Another example would be het. clowns. The het clown gene tends to brighten and clean up the morph. Of course, this is not always the case, but I would say usually.
And the markings of het clowns tend to look a little different too sometimes (larger eye spots in the alien head for example).
