cloaca - Hemipenes

So, I took my male pastel out about a week 1/2 ago to give him a break from my big girl. Well, they weren't locked or anything, but when I took him out the red area where the hemipenes was sticking out and looked a bit swollen. I instantly put him on wet paper towels so it wouldn't stick to anything as he was moving about. I noticed today it looks like he doesn't even have spurs anymore.

Anyone else ever seen this? If so, what was the issue????

The area was probably still swollen a little bit from copulating. Everything doesn't just shrink back to normal right away lol. Does it look normal now?

Their spurs can and will fall off, not a big deal.

Ok, and it's not swollen, but it does have a different color to it, and the vent doesn't seem to open as much as normal, but I wasn't pressing too hard as I don't want to hurt him if its still messed up...

OK, heres an update on him:

I was checking him out today and was inspecting that area, when applying barely any pressure as I was going to pop him, these really long nasty looking white things came out, and the hemipenes looked very swollen. So, I am sure you are right about it still just being swollen after intercourse. But I still want to know what these long white things were, could it have been bedding?? I am pretty sure it was not sperm plugs, but then again I have never seen them lol

Do you keep them on aspen?

She is on aspen, so when he was in there yes, when I take him out its normally newspaper, right now paper towels.

Could it have been some aspen that got in there? The stuff that came out that is.
