feeding question for my sand boa

So our little sand boa (pretty sure he's a male) is about six months old, was born last July. He's currently about 13 inches long. He is eating a pinkie mouse twice a week...usually I feed him on Sundays and Wednesdays. I'm wondering how I know if he's getting enough food? When do I (if ever) need to move him up to something bigger? He's eating really well for me and seems content.

mine is about the same size. i felt he took the pinkies waaay to easily. he could swallow one in no time flat. i moved him to a fuzzy yesterday and he took it no problem. im going to stay with the fuzzies and just do one every 5 to 7 days instead of two pinks.

thanks for that! Mine isn't swallowing real fast...it takes him a couple of minutes to be finished eating so maybe I'll wait a bit before moving him up

Mine were slow to taking larger food than pinkies (I think it was because they are lazy!!). Mine weight 35 grams, 47 grams, 51 grams, and 124 grams. They are all taking smaller fuzzy mice (with the larger one taking hoppers). I feed twice a week and it seems to be a good fit. I keep regular track of their weight too- it really helps plot their growth. I can easily see when one is falling behind or flat lines in growth. I'm a little OCD but I like knowing. I have a hard time thinking in inches- how much does yours weigh?

i'm not sure how much he weighs. Would a good kitchen scale be one to buy in order to weigh him?
