-You now have to pay twice the vet bills if one of the snakes gets sick.
-You can't monitor any deification. If you find that there's some runny poop in the tank, how do you know which snake produced it?
-It just stresses them out because they are solitary critters by nature.
-Competition for resources. You'll often see BPs that are housed together laying on top of one another to get at the hot spot.
- Two males will fight with one another. Doesn't look very fun for the snakes, does it?
-Unintentional pregnancies if you have a male and a female together.
-And the worst, cannibalism. Which mind you, has no warning signs. The only warning you get is when you go to look in on their tank one day and you wonder where your other snake went.
Pros
-Well at least I have two snakes together in one tank and that looks really cool. I am so cool. I am just the coolest person ever.
It's just not a smart thing to do and there is literally no benefit outside of a keeper getting their own ego stroked so just don't do it.
I appreciate the advice and insight...i apologize if its me or do you have some kind of failed history behind this attempt? It just seems like you have some kind of real dislike for someone who has tried and done it successfully. No disrespect to you in anyway Im just curious!

Wilomn, if you can give me one benefit of permanently housing two Ball Pythons together, I will gladly listen.

Well, namely there's just so many cons that come out of it over pros. If there was one good thing, I would gladly include it but the fact of the matter is, there are not. Plain and simple.
This really isn't speaking from personal experience however, the things I listed are just facts. They are things that can happen when you keep two snakes together, maybe not right away but a problem will eventually arise where as most of those issues can be moderated much more efficiently or completely avoided with solitary housing. And I'm not saying don't buy another snake but plain and simple, there's no logical reason to house them together.
And if I sound snotty sorry, but I just see this issue come up so frequently, it's obnoxious.

Petsmart is hardly the poster child for proper reptile husbandry.

Got it. You don't know squat about it, haven't ever done it, won't ever do it, but feel fine telling any and all that it's the pathway to hell if they do it.
It's guys like you that make people in this hobby think we're all chest thumping idiots who jump on bandwagons the way smart people do research.
One good reason, here ya go smart guy.
I LIKE it. Here's another. It DOES look cool. And just for fun, here's another, because I don't allow those who can't to tell me that I'm no better than they are.
Maybe you should go fly one, ya know?
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

Well, thank you for insulting my intelligence and I can see that we probably won't agree on whatever either one of us has to say so let's just leave it at that and I've said my piece anyway so I'm pretty much done here.
But OP asked for an answer and they got mine and it's ultimately up to them. :/

Its silly to think that any of those scenarios are absolutely going to happen if you house the snakes together. Nothing might ever go wrong. No one can say for sure.
Personally, I house my animals in separate enclosures because I believe they prefer being alone. There really aren't any benefits to the animals health or overall well being that are convincing enough to house these animals together. They just like being alone.
Can you house them together? Sure you can. But just be aware that there are some negative consequences associated with housing together. Ask yourself "why am I housing them together? How does this enrich their lives?"
If you do, I would only ever permanently house females together, as two sexually mature males will combat. Having a male and a female together could create an unplanned clutch of eggs that you and the female snake might not be prepared for.

Re: Can i do this!!??
Everything you guys are saying makes sense and I agree I constantly see petsmart or petco doing things completely wrong. The reason I even started this thread is becausei have seen it done but only once. Well I take the more than once because pets shops do it all the time...I'm really not convinced either way yet honestly, and I don't think I ever will try it...great debate peeps, thnx!
