Tell us your setup. Cam, settings, lighting.
    I'll try

Camera - Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20 (14mp point and shoot)
Settings - ISO 80 (tried on 100 aswell), White balance Manual set (tried on AWB), Color mode - Vivid (I did switch this to natural and took a few shots, as well as standard, but vivid gave me the truest colors), Macro zoom on
Lighting - 3 5500k Daylight bulbs one on each side, one front/above. I moved the third to direct above, and also turned the third off entirely as well. Non of these tweeks helped the blur of the yellows.

Edit: I've also tried with and without flash.

    Hmm.
See if you have a lightbulb on your white balance setting.
    ISO 100
    Shutter Speed 125
    Aperture around 5.6 - 8

Might want to check to make sure the lens is clean. If it's a removable lens, make sure the inside is clean too.

You can try to take a pic of a darker snake or object and see if your are getting that "blur" look.

And now back to drooling over those snakes :p

All snakes grow differently We have a 2011 that is right at that 600-700 mark, and another that was a couple hundred away from 2k when we weighed her in november.

Henna is one of the nicest lesser pastels I've ever seen. Hope I can snag a similar one some day!
