    Question about XPVC

Hi, everyone. I was just wondering if expanded PVC sheets are solid enough that I could have a rack with one Vision 70 tub or two Vision 35 tubs per shelf? I even created a crappy blue print using Paint.

I've never used XPVC to build with myself but I know a lot of people do to make all sorts of things with 1/2 in thick sheets and it seems to work well enough for them!

Unless I'm misunderstanding the question, I don't see why not. I currently have a 10 stack (technically 2 5stack racks stacked on top of each other) V-70 close sided rack out of 1/2" xpvc courtesy of www.cserpents.com

Strong like bull. No sagging and works beautifully!

I built a DIY XPVC open air 1/2" thickness and I would say yes. keep with the 1/2" thickness and it will be great, heavier if you run closed sides...I love the light weight mine has, not that I move it often, but when I go to periodically check probes it's easier.

    Re: Question about XPVC

Yes, I'd be using the 1/2" sheets. I just wanted to make sure this stuff is strong enough that it wouldn't sag in the middle, leaving me unable to pull out tubs! I was planning on using CDs as spacers, to give each tub some ventilation and sliding room. Is that what most people use?

Most of the professionally made racks out there are made from 1/2" PVC or a similar plastic. all of the cages I got from AP are also made from 1/2" PVC. I can stand on top of my cages without any issue.

Most sign places will carry it and most plastic supply places will as well. I if looking for small bits will talk with plastic fabricators they often have scraps that they will give/sell.
