I personally have never had to remove eyecaps but so you know I wasn't just throwing out random info here's the video. Many people in this forum have a lot more experience then I myself have so if they say vet visit that's probably the best idea. hope everything works out.

But the snake in question is what happens when people do that without making certain there is a stuck eyecap to remove. Basically it leaves the eye completely exposed and unprotected and it nearly always gets infected.

Since a stuck eyecap really isn't that big a deal in comparison we normally tell people not to try and remocve it just make sure the humidity is right for the next shed. Or use something like a damp pillowcase that won't tear the living spectacle off an eye.

People can make mistakes easily so you get used to being cautions with advice.
