    Not exactly. Eggs do not become eggs until ovulation. Fertilization also occurs during this time when eggs are pushed through the oviducts. Unfertilized eggs cannon be resorbed after ovulation and are just laid as underutilized ovum. Eggs are only resorbed if ovulation does not occur. Follicle size doesn't have as much to do with being fertilized as much as it is an indication of how close to ovulation the female is. The larger the follicles, the better chance you have of achieving ovulation. Again, an ovulation guarantees you will get eggs....but does not guarantee fertile eggs.
