Whistling?

I picked up my ball python to check if it was whistling again because I caught it doing that the other day. At first I didn't hear anything so I opened its mouth to check for any mucus and I didn't see any. So I go to put it back and it is whistling again... could this be RI or just stress?

Probably just stress, but keep a close eye on the BP to make sure that you don't miss any other signs that could point to RI.

Is it going into or coming out of a shed?

Its probably nothing. I have some snakes that whistle from time to time when they breathe but they are in no way sick. Could be some stuck shed in the nostril or just a loose piece of shed.

I don't think I've ever heard any of our balls whistle but our maclotts sure do. Keep an eye on it & make notes, you never know when a pattern pops up that will tip ya off... like coming into a shed within a few days of becoming musical

it had shed about a week ago. but i have also listened for any whistling before I pick it up and there is none, but when I put it back there is some whistling.

They do that when the sit on something bumpy. It's like it presses an extra amount of air from the snakes lung(s), and they whistle. NBD
