    Best place to buy hets

Where can i get hets and feel safe about them actually being hets? Ive heard several stories about people spending alot of money on what they thought were hets and they turn out to not be. What are some reliable breeders i can get hets from?

There are a ton of reliable breeders out there. Even small time breeders can be reliable too.

Depending on what your looking for Terry Schaffner from Tballs is a good source for Hets. Depends on what morphs you are looking for.

Re: Best place to buy hets

There are a lot of good breeders out there with hets. Me personally I either make my own or buy them from one guy that I have purchased from before with great results. You definetely don't want to spend the time and money on a het, go through 2-3 seasons and get nothing.

Most of those stories came from a time when simple hets like albino and pieds were going for thousands of dollars. That isn't the case any longer. Heck, I sell het pied males as normals now. They aren't worth the extra work to track paperwork.

So, for simple hets most reputable breeders are perfectly fine. Good luck!

There are plenty of good places to get them from! Especially if you hear of someone successfully breeding and producing a Het. they've bought from there. Also check with the genetic calculator to make sure the supposed pairing would definitley produce hets.

Also, if I'm selling something worth a little more, like double recessives I normally have a pic like this to show that there was a pairing.

If a breeder can not show you pictures of a visual morph, that is a warning sign.
