Insert witty title of your choice (post is about killer pets)

I've been watching this show on Netflix called 'Fatal Attractions'. It's about people who keep dangerous animals (they all die). I'm sure it's 8 years old because it's on Watch Instantly and I always think I found something interesting, just to find out that everyone has already seen it ten times. But I thought I'd put it out there anyway!

There are a couple of episodes that focus on snakes (venomous and constrictors) and one with Monitors. It's not the best television I've ever seen, but it's entertaining enough.

I have seen it and thought it was worth watching too. My problem is I have only caught the same episode over and over again! Some poor tiger kept in an apartment!!!

My personal favorite was the lady whose leopard attacked her, ripped the back of her head off, and held her face in the dirt until the police arrived and shot it (twice) to get it off of her....and she insists that he meant no harm, he was just playing and got a little rough.

I'm always on Netflix, I'm amazed I haven't ran into this. I'll have to check it out.

The problem is that the general public thinks all exotic keepers keep their animals in this way and it will happen to everyone who has one. Dont you know you will die if you have a large constrictor. Or at least thats what those shows try to teach people. Not saying it cannot be entertaining though.

Actually, I think they do a decent job of explaining that these particular people haven't done a very good job of keeping the animals properly. For example, Burmese Python Guy was drunk, had Cocaine and tranquilizers in his system, and had hit his head (leaving a smear of blood in the doorway of the enclosure) before he entered the snake's enclosure. After he was killed, the snake was taken to...somewhere, don't recall. A zoologist was interviewed who said the snake was pretty seriously underfed and was an "accident" waiting to happen.

I haven't watched every single episode (yet), but so far they have made it a point to say that these people aren't doing this correctly and that's why they've had the problems they've had.

If you're looking for a television show that paints an accurate depiction of these accounts, keep looking. Fatal Attractions is incredibly sensationalized and utter bullpocky. In my opinion, it's just too absurd and overblown too even have a laugh over without wanting to flip over the coffee table. 6_9

However this does give me an excuse to link an article written by Dean Ripa, owner of the Cape Fear Serpentarium, after he was bitten by a Bushmaster and Fatal Attractions contacted him to film an episode "documenting" his experience. It's a good read.

I'm gonna watch the first episode now. I'm curious.

I hate that this is on Animal Planet though Why can't they air something positive?

oh my god, I can't believe these people exist. I hate that this is what comes to mind to common folk when you say "I have lots of lizards".

This first guy must have some mental problem... he is just plain stupid.
