I really like the mounts that you have your probes in. Did they come with the thermostat or can you buy them separately?

That probe looks insecure. Probes must never be able to move or be moved. I can't say it is firmly fixed but it looks like a tug will pop it off. I have had snakes pull probe cords so hrd they broke the cord, the probe must not move.

The probe itself may come out of the mount like you mentioned but will still stay in place within the enclosure. The way it is setup is, the mount is for aesthetics so it doesn't look like this. The hole that the probe is inserted through is filled with glue from a hot glue gun. I have had this setup for about 3-4 months and the probe has not came out of the mount yet, if it does I will just push it back in.

I bought the mounts from Amazon: http://amzn.com/B004K2WZS4
The mounts them self can be insecure so I placed a screw threw the middle and physically attached them to the enclosure.

If you are talking about the probe from a thermostat yes it would either go under or on top of the heat tape depending on your setup. Just make sure not to place a probe that's is regulating a UTH inside the enclosure.

If your enclosure is from ap there should be a cut out on the outside bottom for the probe placement.

I used a hot glue gun to glue the thermostat probe directly to the surface of the radiant heat panel. It is very secure and impossible for my snakes to get to it to bump it loose.
