Help! Armadillo Disaster!
I seriously need help getting rid of an armadillo. My back yard looks like bombs have been going off back there. I don't even know how many holes this little gray monster has dug - they're everywhere! It's gotten to the point where I can't let my dog off leash because I'm afraid he'll step in a hole and break his leg if he tries to run. Any suggestions?

Do you have a .22? I would assume that would kill it

Trap and release isn't always that great. It can introduce illnesses into an unprepared population. Not to mention, the animals won't know where any of the hibernation areas are.

Find a trail, set a double door cage trap on said trail. Lol The only other way is to shoot it. .22 is fine.

Re: Help! Armadillo Disaster!
Thanks, everybody! No, I don't have a .22 (or any neighbors with Patterdales). I've been told that to trap this thing, I need to know where its burrow is and put the trap there. I'm guesstimating that there are pretty close to 70 holes so far. About 20 or 25 of these holes look like burrows to me. They just go down into the ground - not sure how deep they are.

If you kill it, don't eat the meat. Armadillo meat can give you leprosy.

I've also been told that if this thing digs its way under the house, it can actually cause damage to the foundation.

Any bullet would be fine if you had a different gun!
