    Pre kiiled

Whats the best way to kill feeder mice/rats? The way i do it is i put the rat in a bag and slam it on the ground. Its very quick and painless. But im curious as to what methods other people use. I just want options on how to do it with minimal pain/suffering to the mouse/rat.

I use a CO2 gas chamber. There are 2 different ways to do so:

    The dry ice method: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...and-Humane-too

    The gas cylinder method: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...Y-CO2-chamber)

I've done it the way you do it, except in a sock and against the wall. I killed maybe 10 mice that way. Never again. Lol I use cervical dislocation. They convulse and twitch after you do that, too. (most of the time) It's easier for me, and it's not as gross as hitting them against something can be.

I am nervous about trying that for two reasons. 1. I would HATE to mess it up and leave the rat crippled and in horrible pain and 2 rats can be crazy mean and i wouldnt want to get bit. Thats actually why i switched to pre killed. I used to feed live mice and never had a problem but when i switched to rats they were aggressive and lunging at me so i had to pre kill.

Really, the easiest way is to hold a rat by the tail and give its head a quick whack on the head.
