ball python diet

I have a bunch of lizards where I live and I was wondering if I caught some if I could feed them to my ball python to put a little bit of diversity in his diet

not a good idea, I don't know if they usually eat lizards but you wouldn't want to get any parasites into your snakes system. I would stick to rats.

I would stick to rats or mice, wild bps feed on mammals like rodents and birds, though I'm sure a hungry wild bp wouldn't pass up a lizard if it was his only choice. Plus, like ewaldrep stated feeding your bp a wild lizard could introduce some nasty things. Also from my knowledge bps tend to be picky eaters and aquire a taste for a specific food. Throwing something new in could frighten him or throw him off the food train all together.

I agree with the posts above. who knows what those lizards got into. What if they ate some poison or has been pointed out already carried parasites.

It's best to just stick with rodents raised up to be feeders.

The chances of a ball python ever even eating a lizard are slim to none. They are not reptile eating snakes.
