    Help me pick a guitar!

Tax time is fast approaching, and with part of my return I am buying a new guitar. I have narrowed it down to 3 guitars.

    Taylor DN3

    Larrivée L-03
    http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guita...coustic-guitar

    Breedlove D25/SRe

If anyone has any suggestions of another guitars to try out other than these please don't hesitate.

You can't go wrong with a Taylor. Don't know anything about the Larrivee. Breedlove makes a nice instrument, but I think they're overpriced.

Don't count out Martins. If you're looking at Dreadnought style bodies (which it seems you are), take a look at Martin's lineup. I've got a Martin DXME, and I love the deep mellow tones. It's not a loud, bright guitar that absolutely sings the high strings on the high frets, but that's not what I was shopping for. Drop-tune to a D on the low string, hit the 3-string open D power chord, and enjoy. Like the Breedlove D25/SRe, the DXME is an acoustic/electric. I don't even own an amplifier, but if that's a feature you're looking for the DXME has it. The DXME isn't solid wood construction, which is part of the reason it's at a lower price point.

Martin makes some dreadnought bodies that I believe are in the price range of the guitars you posted. If I was going to spend over a grand on a guitar, I would certainly give a handful of Martins of different body styles a try.

Hit up a few local shops to get some guitars in your hands, though you may have done that already.

Taylor's are nice, martins are really nice too I also like fenders but I haven't looked at new fenders. My hippie cousin has a Martin and a fender in that body style tho and both are wonderful guitars to play.

I have tried several Martins and Gibsons. Both have amazing sounds but just don't feel right in my hands. The 3 I listed were the 3 that stood out most to me after 5 hours of playing different guitars at Sam Ash, Guitar Center, and a couple local music stores.

The Larrivée L-03 would be my choice. I am a huge Candyrat Records fan, and a few of their guitarists have them.
