    My coastal carpet got out!

I woke up this morning and went to check on her and she's gone. It was my fault not closing the lid all te way. She's small, about 2 feet long. How should I go about finding her? She disappeared from a carpetted room with the door shut. I've torn the room apart and can't find her anywhere. My only idea is make a warm humid spot and toss a rat pup in it near where her tank and the lamps are. It's a day or ap past feeding day and she just came out of shed so it may help?

Pull the stuff out of crevices and double check them for snakes, then put it in the middle of the room. That's how I've found mine when she escaped. They are often curled up in a shoe or someplace else that's cozy. put in in the middle of the room. Tiny, tiny crevises are where they are. Also high places because baby carpets are arboreal. If you still don't find her after that, then set up a little warm spot with a fuzzy or something. Try to keep the room generally warm se she doesn't get sick.

Good luck, I hope she turns up.

I was hoping she'd be under the tv. That's where my spider ball went last time but she wasn't there. I put a damp cloth in a boot in front of a heat lamp that's on one of the tanks. I'm going to put a fuzzy in there in a bit when I can get to the store. My room is about 75 degrees from all the lamps in it so she could be anywhere. I've literally torn the entire room apart.

I'm thinking she may have followed the heater piping into the wall. Which is right next to her tank. I have my cat hunting for her right now. Even though he's a bit (well a lot) slow he's hood at finding things.

why the **** would you put a cat after your snake? thats like putting mouse guts on your balls and putting it in a retics cage. you just dont do it! look for it your self and start learning to close the lid. from your comment you have done this before....... hope she shows up though

I'm in the room with my declawed cat watching him. I really dont think there's much he can do any harm to the snake with me sitting two feet away from him. Look through some lost snake threads. A lot of others have done this with success. People make mistakes. Snakes get out sometimes.

My dog would never look for a lost snake, a rat how ever I don't think it would have the chance to get lost before she clames a new toy for herself. Good luck man snakes are good at causing headaches like this ha hope you find her.

Cats can still bite...and from having a young coastal carpet myself and seeing how small and wiry they are I wouldn't doubt a quick bite from a cat could do some serious damage to her.

    Good luck finding her.
