Just my opinion, but you did kinda seem like you were coming here to say you were right and everyone else was wrong. As both Pit and I were trying to explain to you, BPs will generally not turn down a live mouse. Doesn't mean you necessarily fixed the problem that had her not eating.

I also know people who work at petsmart and they feed their reptiles basically anything they will eat to keep them alive. Including live, FT, mice, or rats. Sometimes they do things they don't discuss with everyday customers.

Pet mice and feeder mice are pretty much the same thing with a different price. Petco even sells their retired breeders as pets. That's why we don't buy rats from there to breed for our own snake food.

OP, just relax and make sure your husbandry is spot on. Don't argue with people when they give you advice. If you don't agree with the advice and choose not to try it, that's up to you. But when people with a lot more experience than you tell you something, listening would be the smart thing to do.

How is your snake not eating "the brink of death?" Two months is nothing, I have a spider that would kill you because he only eats three or four times a year.

We are all here to help each other out even if we don't like or want to hear the answers we get.

    bonjour Zombie-FiFi
Two and a half months is A LOT for a hatchling who may never have eaten in her life. She has folds upon folds of loose skin from not eating, thankfully she has now eaten. And I considered it an emergency situation. *Sighs* But alright. As long as no one assumes that I'm automatically wanting to be a jerk (if I am it's easier to tell, I don't believe in suppression), let's talk pleasantries. My Petsmart hadn't a clue what they were doing, sadly.

Also, the "I KNEW IT!!!!!!" was in reference to my faith in God and my snake to eat eventually.

I some how missed this post. You don't know squat because if you did you know I would tell you how big to make it and where to shove it.
I am not bias with anyone, if your feelings get hurt that easily then you better block me now.
Fix your husbandry FIRST then come debate with the big boys.

See, this an example. That post was made before you showed yourself as sensible. It's 100% ridiculous to get angry over it. If it's not true, fine.

I don't have to show you squat when you came asking for help and didn't like the answers you got.
Sensible only happens when one person likes the responses they get, any other response is then viewed as stupid or unneeded.

I actually used to work for petco. We did feed live mice.... oh and fancy mice and regular feeder mice are exactly the same thing. They just split the litter up in 2 piles and go"oh this side will cost 1.99 but this side were gonna cahrge 5.99 and slap the title of fancy! On them".

    Re: I knew it!!!!!! :D

I'm a PetSmart employee in the Pet Care Dept. Glad to hear that the original posted snake is eating. My store does not feed any live mice to snakes. The "Fancy Mice" we sell are too large to be feeders anyway. The store doesn't even have any other than frozen pinkies and fuzzies for store use. A problem with this could be said that the meals are too small for the ball pythons, but the baby corns eat the pinkies just fine. The store also doesn't know the sex of the snakes. They don't pop or probe any snakes because of the risks involved. I'm a snake keeper and my staff knows that so when asked I will pop the ball pythons, but I'm not comfortable doing it to the tiny corn snakes. As far as I know we've never assist fed either. None of our snakes stay at the store long enough to miss more than a couple meals. And I have yet to see a snake get returned because of failing health. I'm not saying this to try to make my store look good in any way. Just to make the point that we take care of our animals. Anyone who has heard of a store assist/force feeding or feeding live needs to report that store to the advisement phone number listed on the animal habitats in store. Just report it, don't condemn the nationwide specialty store because of a few rule breakers. I'm sure I'm not the only PetSmart employee who is a user of this site.

    Re: I knew it!!!!!! :D

I'm not taking sides on this, but in regard to the policies of the stores mentioned, could it be that it depends on where they're at? My local PetSMART doesn't sell live feeders, and if you tell them that's what it's for, they won't sell you a rodent ever. I know because I tried and the girl remembered me from the previous week and refused. My PetCO does sell live feeders, but they are the same as "pet" mice. As in, same bin, same price, same everything...well, except for life expectancy.
