Comforting to know the blisters may not be a huge deal, but the shipping really doesn't look safe for the snake (lots of room to bump around). I'm basing that off of receiving BPs and a pine though, so maybe it isn't a huge deal either with the moss? Hmm

I might still give them a call. I'm pretty frustrated with how they whole shipping thing went.

There was some moss in there, true, but I don't see it as being much help in keeping him from jostling about so much. More to keep him moist.

    Who knows.

Generally, blistering in sunbeam snakes is from a lack of humidity and adequate burrowing substrate. Normally a depth of at least one foot is recommended. A mix of cypress mulch and eco earth normally works well.

That is why I am concerned. This is my first day with him, so I'm guessing the seller didn't have his enclosure right.

Should I call up and complain?

So I called over there. Guy I spoke to said he inspected the snake before it got shipped out. I also told him that I thought the packaging was inadequate and sent him pictures of the box and the snake at his request.

    This was my email.

Attached is a picture of the box he was shipped in minus the bag and moss. O didn't move the paper towels around. I was mostly worried that he would have been jostled about without more cushioning.

And these are pictures from when I first unboxed him. I can get more of these are inadequate.

I am also a bit concerned that I wasn't sent a tracking order last night and had to call you guys to get it today.

    Thanks,
    Christina

    Re: Sunbeam Snake Help?

    Well they called me back.

I'm still kinda upset about the packaging but they said it probably got shifted around during transport. Understandable. And the paper towels probably got wet from the moss.

They said that from the pictures its probably scarring since they are wild caught.

    Thoughts???

See what your vet has to say. With it being wild caught I'm guessing you have an appointment lined up..?

Yep, I'll be having him checked out.

Talked to they guys at Underground. They said they'll extend the guarantee till next week and I can ship him back (at my cost) to get my initial payment and shipping fee back.

BigJay is right.. In order for them to thrive they require a very deep and moist burrowing substrate such as ecoearth. Try not to handle them. A sunbeam should be hiding deep in its burrow over 90% of the time. They are not display or handling snakes if you want them to thrive.

Yep. I'm a-okay with that on my end. Just was worried that they had a blister from where I had ordered him from.
