So my set up is the hiding spot the heat lamp and the heat pad are all are the left side of the tank and the right side has the water bowl. Everytime i look my snake keeps hiding under the water bowl. Is that bad?

Can you place the water bowl in the middle? Then you can place another hide on the cool side.

It's not bad. Snakes are pretty good at going where they feel most comfortable, but you should make sure that his cage is comfortable to begin with. I'm not a big fan of heat lamps as they can dry out the air and cause bad sheds. Also, with the heat lamp and heat pad it might be too warm for him. How are you measuring the temps and how are you controlling the temps? You should get an accurate digital thermometer and measure the temps inside of his hide as that is where he will be spending most of his time.

Do you mean the ambient temp or is the whole setup 82 degrees?

What about the temp inside his hide. My bp use to go to the hide on the cool side too and it was because inside the hide was too hot even tho the temp was fine outside. Sometimes the hide traps a little more heat and you wont really know it from seeing the thermometer. I suggest you getting a digital non touch laser thermometer. It measures the surface temp of any spot in you snake's enclosure.
