They're very active in the evening. Some of them will wait until you turn all the lights out, and then it's a ball python disco for a couple of hours, when you're not actually watching. I like to take a flashlight out after my husband's gone to bed and go looking in all the tanks. They freeze as soon as the light hits them, it's hysterical. (But they'll usually stay out and climb around if I just turn a table lamp on.)
And I've checked the tubs, too, in the evening with the flashlight. They're all cruising around in there, too.
