    Spotnose Question

For those of you who work with spotnose....

one of the things I love is the busy belly that spotnose tend to have, however in this clutch the normals (two of them) also had the black belly look. This is my first spotnose clutch in a while, and I dont think Ive ever checked out the bellies of the normal sibs before. Anyone else noticed this or do you think it was just a fluke? I attached a pic of one of the normal males (the other is in shed, but has the same belly).

I can't wait to work with the spotnose gene! But... I have no experience, also waiting for some more experienced people to chime in, haha. Cool little guy!

The only thing that I know about Sponoses is that you want to look for the headstamp first. Looks like that one has a faded one but I'm no expert. :V

The only spotnose I've seen in person had that exact head spot on them and bellies maybe they are not normals but a low quality spotnose?

I'll be looking for a spotnose pair in '13 to grow up and try for Powerballs, so when I eventually have babies I'll take note to look at the normal sib's bellies to see if they look like the two males you posted pics of.

I'd love to see the Spotties you produced though

    Edit:

I think there was some confusion: the male the OP posted isn't a Spotnose, he's asking if any normal clutch mates have busy bellies too or if his are fluke babies with busy bellies.

Correct. I am asking about spotnose siblings, Ive never hatched out anything with a black belly before, and I thought it was interesting that they popped out of a spotnose clutch. This is definitely NOT a spotnose though. In addition to the belly markings, spotnose have interesting head stamps, usually a pretty distinct nose spot and different coloring. Here is a spotnose female from the same clutch

    Re: Spotnose Question

To add to my last post, here is a comparison shot of three siblings. From left to right: 0.1 Pastel Spotnose, 0.1 Spotnose, 1.0 Busy Belly Normal
