Purchased as a Mojave

I just picked up this snake from a local pet store ... It was cheap so I took a chance.

I didn't buy this snake a friend did

Only pointing this out because there's no way to mistake the two. I have no way to tell which one is correct but I will tell you that people are gonna be on your butt for this because it DOES sound odd. Why would you say you bought it instead of just saying "my friend bought it" in the first place? Nobody would've said anything, people ask questions about their friends'/family's/others' snakes all the time.
