Boas and balls MITES ! I'm not happy

So I've heard, listened, thought people were crazy. Well today I saw mites on a rat for the first time. I produce my own but at time find it hard to have the right size prey available. This leads me to buy rats from somewhere else. I'm pissed, I've heard the rumors for three years it's now time to take action. I'm giving boas and balls 24 hours to come up with a solution and treatment for the rats that they sell as feeders!! I will take action and see that they have most if not all of there animals removed.

The pictures I'm gonna show will show a mite close to the hair and as I brush back it will appear at the tip of a hair.

So, you left a rat in the cage and then saw mites on it or you saw mites before you put it in? There is a good chance your rats have mites which are a completely different critter from reptile mites.

You can get horse dewormer(ivermectin) and give it to your rats.

A tube is only a few dollars and you can give the rats a rice grain size dose.
The rat mites will go away within days.

That's nice to know. On the other hand I need to feed my snakes now. Someone with a permit or license sells mite infested rats and no one seems to be freaked out by this!??

I would be more worried about what's inside those rats.
Find a new source until your stock is ready.
