Unhappy Is my ball python underweight?

Well she is a baby, she is about 20 inches, maybe alittle smaller.
I don't have her weight, but she is skinny(I bought her that way)
I can see her spine, and she is not very round. Here are some pictures. (Sorry for bad quality)

I did manage to assist feed her a fuzzy mouse two days ago. She didn't put up to much fight, or try to throw it back up. She just sat there with it in her mouth for 5 or 10 minutes, then she swallowed it.

Any pics of just her without you holding her?

Why did you need to assist feed her?

Just so you know fuzzy mice are WAY too small for her IMO, bumper her up to small mice or rat pups/fuzzies and she'll pack on weight quickly.

Re: Is my ball python underweight?

I needed to assist feed her because she wouldn't eat anything. I used a fuzzy, because I want her to get used to it. I have 5 frozen hopper mice in my freezer that I will try to give her in three days.

How long have you had her? What was the previous owner/breeder/store feeding her? Have you tried live? How long has she not eaten for you?

Re: Is my ball python underweight?

I just got her about seven days ago, the previous breeder was feeding her hoppers, I have tried hoppers, live and thawed. She won't take them. I asked the owner when she was last fed and she said she hadn't eaten for a while.

She's quite thin IMO. Do you know how old she is?

Maybe if you answer some questions we can help you to get her eating well for you:

What are you housing her in? Enclosure etc, what are the temps, and how are you measuring them?
How often do you handle her/how often have you handled her in the week you've had her?
How often have you tried feeding her in the week you've had her? How did you try to feed/offer the f/t and live to her?
When was she last fed with the breeder/previous owner? Do they know an exact date besides "awhile ago"?

Re: Is my ball python underweight?

I don't know how old she is, all I know is that she is a baby

I am keeping her in a sterlite bin (It's big, but I blocked it up so she wouldn't feel stressed out, so right now it's the size of a shoe box)

The temp is 85-90 degrees in her hot spot, and around 80 in the cooler spots. I do not use a heat lamp, I use a UTH.

I kinda handle her everyday, but for short periods of time, right after she ate that fuzzy I left her alone for two days.

I tried feeding her the second day i got her, it was a live, then the next day i tried frozen/thawed hopper.

I do not know the exact date of when she was last fed.

She never curls up in a ball, (unless she's asleep in her hide) When I handle her she is quite active. She's always on the go when I take her out. Though she will wrap around my wrist.

snakes can go a while without eating, especially when stressed. The move from breeder to your set up is added stress. I didn't even attempt feeding my new one until a week after a got her, 2 days after her usual scheduled feeding at the petstore.

Also, is shoebox size big enough to fit in a waterdish and a hide? If there aren't hides she won't be comfortable, thus possibly not eating.
