    Active Ball Python...

This is my first ball python and my first snake, it was about 10:30pm and i was doing some cleaning in the room, my bp (Whos about 3 months old) came out of her hide and was following me along the cage, i took her out and let her roam around for about 10 minutes (cause it was a bit chilly in the house) when i put her back she continued to do the same, first following me to one side of the cage then the next, for about 10-15 minutes then went back into her hide. Is this normal behavior? Her hot side stays at about 90 and her cool side at about 80, so i dont think it was the heat.

They usually come out at night, so sounds normal to me. If she was roaming excessively during the day time I would believe her to be stressed due to an issue (husbandry usually). If she's just roaming at night it sounds fine. How often and what size prey are you feeding?

She eats one mouse slightly larger than a hopper once a week, and she just ate this Thursday.

My ball pythons only come out when they are either hungry or thirsty, but it is common for some snakes to explore at night. To me, it just depends on the snake. Some of my ball pythons like explore more at night, but most stay in their hide.

I agree though that if it is constantly active that it sounds stressed.

The only time that I see my ball pythons without pulling them out myself is at night.
