Ageing ball pythons...
I recently got my ball-python from a.friend. Thay coundnt keep him cause of small kids. He was rescued from a "breeder" that would "stretch" him to make him bigger then he was suppose to be. We never found out his age. Is there a way I can tell or find out?

You'll never know. They all grow at different rates.
I have two and a half year olds that are 1000g difference in weight

Yeah.. I was wondering the same thing?? That makes no sense. Also there is nothing wrong with having a ball python around small kids.. seems like a crummy reason to give it up.

Aww that's sad. What were the kids doing to the poor snake that caused them to feel they needed to give it away? Surely they didn't think the snake was a threat. That's just silly.

I know right, and what was the breeder doing that it had to be "rescued" from also?

Everything about that is weird, stretching? Feeding would be what you need to do to make a snake big/grow.
There really isn't a way to know how old a snake is. A snake could weigh 600 grams at 6 moths old, or 600 grams at 3 years if they weren't fed well/are poor feeders. Length really won't tell you anything either because their growth could be stunted from not being fed properly.
