    A little nervous....

So I haven't posted in a long while because there hasn't really been anything of interest to report. But tonight is feeding night and these past few weeks Andromeda has not been too interested in her meals. This time she struck immediately (F/T hopper mouse) and she seemed really interested. I left her alone to feed Prometheus and Salazar and I have come back to find her trying to LITERALLY swallow her food sideways. She seems to be struggling a little bit so I am somewhat nervous that she is having issues. I haven't disturbed her yet in the hopes that she will correct the issue herself and it hasn't been THAT long since I gave her the mouse. Has anyone had this happen who can help me out a little bit? Any help is appreciated.

My little girl sin does that sometimes it freaked me out at first but she got it. I was like nooooooo that's not how you do it!!!! She's also ate one backwards once... -.- but now she flips them around and gets it right. But she's pretty weird I put 2 mice in and she kills them both then eats the 2nd one the eats the first one. She's weird.. So how is she doing with the mouse now?

She appears to have solved the problem on her own thankfully. I have never had that happen with a BP so I was just freaking right the heck out! I was like "Oh goodness... Why are you doing that?!" She is finishing her meal as I type this now and I am most relieved.

Yeah same here. I was just getting ready for there to be an issue but after a little work she seems to have gotten it. As did her other neighbors (though they were less round about in their methods)

My big guy, Elmo, did that once with a small rat. It was his first meal after his winter fast and he was just a little excited, I think! It took him over an hour to swallow it!

Hmm...well I was going to edit my original post but I can't. I meant to say that he figured out the right way to swallow it.

I've had one of my boas eat sideways, but never a ball. They usually manage just fine though.

my little bumblebee does this quite a bit actually. one of the reasons i named her paris: she isn't the brightest thing in the world. lol i just leave it in there with her. after 5 or 10 minutes of trying to swallow sideways she eventually figures out it isn't gonna work and tries a new approach. you'd think she'd learn, but she definitely has her blonde moments. lol

N doubt. She managed it in either case but I was just nervous about her. She did seem a little overzealous about it. She didn't want to eat during the last feeding and since then I boosted the temps a bit and she got excited all over again
