Yeah, x2 light tents are the way to go. You have to be able to get enough light to a camera sensor in order to obtain a good crisp image. Your background can be adjusted as desired based on what you put in your tent, but the main thing is getting nice soft diffused light to hit your subject just right. In some cases you can use a back drop and strobe set up (my choice for larger snakes), but for hatchlings a light tent works wonders and are quite easy to make or cheap(ish) to buy.
