    OT - Nikon Coolpix S6300...........

I have had this for a month now, have taken a few hundred shots and have not gotten a SINGLE crisp, clear image from it yet...
Messed with all sorts of different settings and the settings that help with the focus screw with the color or brightness.
I've taken photography class, I should be able to figure this stupid thing out.

Does anyone else have this camera? Any tips for indoor low-light shots?
I think it's too late to return it......

I had a Coolpix for about 2 weeks and ended up returning it. I had the same problem, they're really bad in low light and the flash is terribly harsh. If it's too late to return you could probably sell it for nearly what you got it for since it's new.

I ended up getting a Cannon A710 IS and it's amazing (basically all the pictures in my gallery were taken using that camera if you want to check them out). It's got manual options too which is really great, and the macro feature works better than most little point and shoots I've had. New they go for about $500 but since there's the A720 IS out now (and maybe another model since I was looking) a bunch of people sell them used on ebay etc... I got mine for about 135 and that was a year ago, they're probably cheaper now. Plus it takes AAs (rechargable or regular) so you don't have to worry about being stuck without a charger or having your camera die if you're somewhere without electricity. My other cameras are film SLRs--I've never bothered getting a better digital because with that one you can get some pretty high-quality stuff--especially if you've got photoshop (although I've barely needed it with that camera).

Antimatter, if I had $500 I would just buy a Canon Rebel T3 lol. I had an old, cheap Canon point and shoot that would take much better pictures, then bought a Canon 300 EOS which was even worse than this Nikon. I guess I will stick with Canon but since I have no money ($120 max budget) I will just have to live cameraless for awhile.

Like I said, I got mine for 135 used, I've seen them for 100 n such pretty often. I wouldn't buy it for $500 either. The amazon link I sent you actually has some used for 50-80 dollars .

I'd wait and save up and grab a used DSLR. Why does everyone hate Nikon? I love my D70s ):

I've never had great luck with those. I'd just live with it until you can save up enough for a Rebel.
