    too soon??

    1. We are new to BP's but have fallen in love with my little guy. I am now looking for a female hatchling so one day they might breed. My question is, can you keep more than one BP in an enclosure or should they be separated all of the time? If they can live together, how long should i wait before getting a female for him.

If you are new to BPs I wouldn't recommend housing 2 snakes together. It can be done, but most new owners that attempt it, fail. Not to say you would, but just a warning.

You will probably have more success with housing them separate. You may want to think about getting a small rack if you would like to attempt breeding someday

If you do decide to house them together, remember that you don't want them competing over the hot spot or the hides or anything. So make sure you double up on everything. Make sure you watch behavior so you can see if one or both are becoming stressed. Feeding time could prove to be tricky as well.

Just some food for thought Whatever you decide, good luck!

just so you know - males reach sexual maturity at about a year old,
females at closer to 3 years old, (some mature quicker than others, some, not so much).
Please do lots of research to learn more about your new hobby.

Separate, the only time they should be together is for the days you are breeding them.
