Rabbits as food
Question: My sister breeds rabbits, and she is often losing babies. Most of the time they are only maybe a week old, without their eyes even opened yet. I was curious if they would make for a good meal if I fed them to my blood? He's currently about 20 inches long. Thanks!

I know nothing of the suitability of young rabbits that have passed away as feeders, but healthy rabbits for sure make great feeders for blood pythons. Match the size to your snake, obviously.

The rabbits do match in size. And they all typically pass away due to the cold. I guess I'm mainly looking to see if they have a good nutritional value at that age compared to feeding him rats.

Re: Rabbits as food
Yes, while they will not have identical value the meat and bone they do have will grow your snake.Baby bunnies will not yet contain much fat and any fat content would likely come from mothers milk.. BUT, do not make them the sole diet as it may insist on rabbits..A varied diet will insure your both happy..

Thanks everyone! He ate his first rabbit, so we'll see how he fairs. And since I have the rats, I'll just vary the diet.

I would deep freeze them first.
I don't know if she is breeding for meat or pets, inside or out. Does she worm them? If outside, fleas lead to tapeworms.
