Tubs
Hi everyone,
I have been doing some reading and some research tonight about tubs. I have an AP T10 cage for my big normal girl, Nacho. I would love to get another cage with a divider for my albino and my coming pied, but I am not sure if I really want another T10 or save more for a rack. Decisions. I love the T10 though. I got in it an excellent deal with a Helix. So much better then a tank!
Currently I have my little albino in a tank which of course is a pain in the you know what to get the humidity 100% correct. I was thinking while saving up for either another T10 or a rack (in case I add to my group), I could use a tub.
Ideas? My biggest worry is the flex watt burning/melting the tub. I do not want a fire or to kill my little guy. Everyone says tubs or racks are awesome especially for the younger ones. What is the best way to set up a tub then? What will I really need? Can you put the tubs on top of each other?
Pros?
Cons?

Re: Tubs
I read that but am wondering if the tub would be fine on top of my T10? Also will the flex watt cause melting if on the tub?
Thanks

Re: Tubs
The tub should be fine on top of your T10.
Just make sure you secure the lid. Along as a thermostat is plugged into your flexwatt for your tub, it shouldn't melt. Tubs are in every rack and the only time anyone has reported it melting the tub is if there was no thermostat regulating the flexwatt or their cheap thermostat failed. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Maybe consider a T8 with a divider? I know the T series has the stacking pins so it would go nice with your 10

Re: Tubs
I am going to compare all the prices then go from there. I like the T cages.

I use 11" Flexwatt that's rated at 20 watts per foot on my 41 quart tubs that are on my quarantine rack that are set up for belly heat. The strip itself is a foot long (measures eleven inches wide by twelve inches long) that's run with a Helix thermostat. The tub sits on the 11" portion of the Flexwatt and with the tstat set to 95, it keeps the warm side 90 to 91 degrees with the room temp set to 78 degrees on the baseboard heaters. Works fine...never had a complaint from any of the tenants, lol!

Re: Tubs
Sorry it has taken me all week to write back to you.
I picked up a 35 qt tub. The store had 6, 12, 16 and one 35. Thought what the heck I will take the 35 for now until I can find a 41 or until my baby grows into one. I was looking at getting a 11" by 11" UTH from Reptile Basics. Ideas? Too long?
The 35 qt tub is 24 x 16 x 7 inches.
Thanks
