Can you breed rats on pine bedding?
Can you breed rats on pine bedding and still be safe to feed to your snakes since pine is toxic to reptiles?

Mine are on pine, and no problems here. There are never any shavings on the rats when they are fed off though

There is at least one respected and experienced keeper here who keeps their snakes on kiln dried pine. So, it is perfectly fine for rodents. All of our rodents are on pine.

I use kiln dried pine, http://www.guardianhorsebedding.com
Look for a dealer, I get about A years worth at a farm and fleet for well under $100

It has to be kiln dried. Otherwise the oils are still harmful.

I believe it is kiln dried and also has fir in it, but should be fine to use.
I've used kiln dried pine for a few years now and the rats do really well on it.
